Taoseña Nicole Romero knows about tragedy — she’s lost a handful of family members to violence. After her 17- year-old brother, Matthew, was killed in a fight at a friend’s house last April, Romero decided it wasn’t enough just to mourn her losses.
Romero, in conjunction with Taos Men Engaged in Nonviolence, is holding what she hopes will be an annual Walk for Nonviolence, to be held Saturday (Oct. 2) at 4 p.m. The event will begin with a gathering at Town Hall and will include a candlelight vigil at Taos Plaza.
